APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562 covers 67 counties in the Eastern half of Missouri.
A licensed plumber protects the nation’s health by installing and maintaining public and private potable water. Ensuring the safe removal of waste products through proper drainage systems in buildings throughout Missouri. Plumbers work on new and existing buildings working in all weather conditions. Skills required include math, science, and being mechanically inclined.
A licensed pipefitter and HVAC technician installs and maintains mechanical piping systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, medical gas, pipe fabrication, and other process piping systems. Pipefitters and HVAC technicians work in new and existing buildings working in all weather conditions. Math, science, welding, problem-solving, and hands-on skills are required.
All our trades, men and women, are required to work safely, and drug-free, and are being trained to adapt to new technologies such as CAD, BIM, Robotic Total Station, and other new and growing work processes.
Apprentice wages range from $22.77-$43.01.
Journey level wage is $50.60.
- You are required to be a High School graduate or have a GED.
- You must be 18 years old.
- You must bring a valid ID.
- Resume is not required but is helpful.

WHERE TO APPLY?
Applications are accepted on the first Tuesday of every month. We do not accept applications in June or December.
All applicants will go to our website to sign up to apply in person.
Once you have applied at our school, you will be required to turn in your High School transcripts or GED. You have 3 weeks from the day you applied to turn in your transcripts. If you do not turn in your transcripts your application becomes void.
All applicants must only apply ONCE every two years.
All applicants must go HERE to fill out the sign up form on our website. We can only take a limited number of sign ups per month. We do not take walk in applicants.
Applicants that filled out the form in the above link will be required to be at the Training Center (3755 Corporate Trail Dr. Earth City, MO 63045) at 8:30 AM the month following their sign up.
Example: An applicant signs up through the link above in March they will be in person in April.

TRAINING PROGRAM
We offer Plumbing, Pipefitting, and HVAC programs. Our programs all do block training which is designed to have each student train in one-week increments that totals a 40-hour work week. In the first year, they attend five weeks of training, in the second and third years they attend four weeks of training, in the fourth year they attend three weeks, and in the fifth year, they attend two weeks. Apprentices are paid their normal salary for block training. In addition, they are required one three-hour night class a week.
